2023 Best in Residential Multi-Unit Design
IIDA New England

Named 2023's Best in Residential Multi-Unit Design by IIDA New England!

Color, light, art, and innovation combine to greet residents and visitors of Park 151, the newest multifamily residential building in the innovation-centric Cambridge Crossing neighborhood (CX). Park 151 exemplifies CBT’s signature “design at all scales” — CBT is the building's architect, interior designer, and is the master planner of the full 43-acre CX master plan. Park 151's design is a sophisticated blend of Cambridge’s creative and innovative milieu with the life science community's established roots in this mixed-use urban village.

It is the inspired artwork and the one-of-a-kind elements that truly elevate Park 151. Highlights include a dramatic entrance portal made of dichroic glass that changes color, and a silver-beaded sculpture that drapes from the lobby ceiling. Called “Cascade,” it is the result of a partnership between CBT and Artists for Humanity, the Boston-based program empowering teens through art and design.

The interior design of Park 151 juxtaposes clean and crisp finishes with rich, jewel-toned carpets, community-sourced art, and customized furnishings, evoking the aesthetic of a gallery space as a serene backdrop. Inspired by the façade, dark metal-edged details unify Park 151’s interior and exterior expressions, offering a holistically conceived and beautifully crafted urban lifestyle.
