811-bed residence hall

Eastview Terrace is a suite-style residence complex of 811 beds and dispersed among seven two- to four-story buildings across nine acres. The program is informed by the dual objectives of providing individual privacy while accommodating student interaction at all levels, from small study groups to large social gatherings. All units are single-rooms with private baths, and a study room and social lounge is provided for every 15 students. One building includes an expansive social hall that can accommodate larger groups.

Due to the magnitude of the project and the prominent location of the building site, the complex serves as a welcoming eastern gateway to the Penn State campus along College Avenue, the University’s popular main thoroughfare. A series of landscaped, interconnected terraces denotes the transition from public to private spaces. This innovative complex creates a vibrant student neighborhood that promotes and embodies community spirit, not typically found in more traditional, contained student residence halls.
