In association with Foster and Partners of London
CBT, in association with Foster and Partners of London, is designing the expansion and renovation of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The design is pursuant to the firm’s master plan, addressing the Museum’s existing buildings as well as the need for expanded facilities. The Museum’s program focuses on reconfiguration of the facility to improve organization and better house and display the extensive collection. The physical reorganization will to correspond to five principal collections: American Art, Ancient Art, Asiatic Art, Contemporary Art, and European Art. The program also strives to integrate curatorial functions and a study center. Improvements to parking, access, and services are also planned. Foster and Partners is responsible for primary master planning and architectural design. CBT’s role is to include local liaison support for Foster and Partners, management of the community approvals process, and execution of technical construction drawings.
