MFA Honored with Harleston Parker Medal Award

We are proud to announce that the Art of the Americas Wing at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) has been named the 2014 recipient of the Harleston Parker Medal Award, a distinguished honor presented by the Boston Society of Architects recognizing the single most beautiful building built in the metropolitan Boston area in the past 10 years.

Designed by Foster + Partners (London) with CBT, the MFA was selected from over 130 projects by an appointed jury. The project was honored at the annual BSA Design Awards Gala on January 29 and was recognized for its "exceptional beauty and service to art."

The expansion implements a significant portion of an overall master plan that has completely reorganized and enhanced the original Museum, with more gallery space, public amenities and accessibility for the MFA’s 1 million annual visitors. The Art of the Americas Wing has more than 5,000 objects from the MFA’s renowned collection on view in 53 galleries, along with the soaring Shapiro Family Courtyard and Alfond Auditorium.
