Urban Designer and Architect

Who You Are: 

  • You are a passionate and self-motivated designer with an affinity for the urban scale and planning. You enjoy the big picture process of shaping the setting for successful developments but understand the art of constructing buildings
  • Inventive — You know how to transform research to support and create innovative and thoughtful design
  • Thrive in the pre-design phase but you also understand the organization and components of a CD, DD, and SD set
  • You understand the constructability of design in context of building systems
  • Graphically savvy — Your variety of software expertise helps strengthen the communication of design

What You Will Do: 

  • Research — Explore precedent, sustainable, façade and massing studies to merge with local code and zoning regulations
  • Evaluate — Use your research to compare buildings and sites, analyze the effects of design on surrounding fabrics, determine the location of programs, explore possible building envelopes , materials, and building shape options
  • Generate — Provide schemes, design options and ideas to assist in the preparation of design presentation packages using various software tools (Rhino, Sketch-Up, V-Ray)
  • Present-Ideas and designs clearly and professionally in-line with the overall project goals and vision to principals
  • Design — Use all of the above to be an influential part in the design process

You Have:

  • 2–5 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, graduate degree in planning or urban design is desired
  • Strong portfolio of work
  • Strong typography, layout and conceptual skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, schedule and meet tight deadlines

Graphic Designer

What You Will Do:

  • Concept-to-production of marketing collateral, brochures, booklets, interactive presentations and templates
  • Support Marketing team and maintain CBT branding standards
  • Work with architectural, urban and interior design teams to produce imagery and diagrams, reports, and interactive presentations
  • Design signage and environmental graphics
  • Present ideas and designs clearly and professionally in-line with the overall project goals and vision

You Have:

  • 3-5 years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design
  • Strong portfolio of work including finished designs; concept drawings/process books a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop

Project Manager

Ideal candidates will possess the ability to: 

  • Able to manage any of CBT’s projects and to manage concurrently
  • Maintain CBT’s relationship with clients and demonstrates leadership in all aspects of a project  including but not limited to management, design and technical components
  • Able to initiate, develop and coordinate design concepts appropriate to the project’s program and budget
  • Able to plan, schedule and direct the work of the team and make appropriate task assignments
  • Able to determine the constructability of design alternatives and determine those alternatives most appropriate to project constraints.
  • Provide oversight through all phases of project development and construction

Project Architect — Interior

Ideal candidates will possess the ability to:

  • Develop and Coordinate detailed design concepts
  • Prepare design plan, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, etc.
  • Ownership and generation of project documents including plans, sections, details, etc., in coordination of a complete construction document package
  • Make independent decisions on architectural problems and methods from sound knowledge base
  • Apply sound and diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices
  • Coordinate with consultants and/or clients
  • Coordinate project manuals
  • Review submittals/construction work for compliance with construction documents

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience.

  • Registered or pursuing registration preferred, LEED AP plus

  • Develop and Coordinate detailed residential design concepts
  • An understanding of how to combine layouts and finishes to attract a targeted market

Senior Interior Designer

We are currently seeking a Senior Interior Designer. This is an opportunity for creative designers with initiative and ambition to work collaboratively on a wide range of corporate, commercial, academic, and civic projects. As a senior team member, the individual will take lead for design issues and will be responsible for all phases of the projects from programming, design development, and oversight of design intent during the Construction Document and Construction Administration phases. 

Qualifications:

  • 10 years’ experience on a range of projects, academic or workplace experience is preferable.
  • Architecture or Interior Design degree from accredited institution.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience with 2D/3D a plus. 
  • Excellent design and communications skills are critical.
  • Strong client contact experience.

Project Architect

CBT is looking for a Project Architect to join our award-winning team to pursue high profile projects in a wide diversity of market types and push the “creative envelop.” The dynamic and growing firm places a high value on creativity, collegiality, and social responsiveness in the community. The Project Architect will be responsible for administrative and professional architectural work by managing projects from inception through construction. The Project Architect is responsible for conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing reports, calculations, and detailed design and construction drawings. The Project Architect provides leadership to the project team which includes coordinating outside consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary field surveys, develop designs and draft preliminary plans for buildings and facilities
  • Prepare maps, sketches, working drawings and construction plans, prepare cost estimates, specifications and bid proposals for construction
  • Participate in the presentation of plans to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning and permit approvals
  • Prepare, review and approve design documents, change orders, material requisitions and specifications for construction or procurement use.
  • Supervise the inspection of construction projects while in progress and upon completion for adherence to plans and specifications; advise contractors on the interpretation of the plans and specifications
  • Supervise and provide direction to junior personnel

Qualifications:

  • 10 –15 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional degree in Architecture required

Interior Designer: Professional Staff I

CBT is seeking an Interior Designer/Architect for our Hospitality sector.

Ideal candidates will possess the ability to:

  • Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts
  • Develop functional requirements and project-design criteria
  • Prepare design plan, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, finish plans, color plans and schedules
  • Demonstrate understanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts
  • Manipulate basic design elements such as proportion, color, light, texture & scale
  • Provide color/finish/material research and selection
  • Prepare contract documents, including design plans, elevations and details, furniture layouts, ergonomic dimensions, finish plans, color plans, finish schedules and ceiling plans
  • Research manufacturers for furniture system and finish materials, providing budget cost for selections
  • Provide programming and space planning analysis and area calculations

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5 –7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the Hospitality Sector
  • Strong background in FF+E
  • Construction Administration experience
  • Fully competent in all aspects of design process
