10 Farnsworth Receives AIA New England Honor Award

CBT is proud to announce that 10 Farnsworth has been honored with a 2018 AIA New England Honor Award. The AIA New England Design Awards program recognizes overall design excellence in architecture by New England Architects or in New England, informed by aesthetic, functional, contextual, sustainable, and social characteristics. The Honor Award is the program’s most distinguished of two categories, followed by Citation Awards. The 10 Farnsworth design team was recognized at the AIA New England Awards celebration, hosted by the Boston Society of Architects/AIA (BSA) on October 12, 2018.

A distinctly modern presence in the heart of Boston’s designated historic landmark district, 10 Farnsworth introduces a graceful response to Fort Point’s industrial heritage. The six-story, 30,000 square-foot residential building recalls the traditional form of adjacent repurposed factory buildings, while its façade integrates glass, metal panel, and natural stone with an airy, modern sensibility. In this bold combination of contemporary materiality and familiar structural composition, 10 Farnsworth captures the historic character and recent evolution of Fort Point Landmark District.
