CBT Designs First-Ever Centralized Festival Site for Boston Innovation Festival
For the last three years we have been thrilled to partner with HUBweek, Boston’s city-wide innovation festival, to further our commitment to design excellence in our community with three tremendous goodwill projects. In 2015, we joined the inaugural HUBweek team to transform Atlantic Wharf into an active indoor and outdoor innovation space called WorkBeat that encouraged Bostonian’s creatives to draw inspiration from the city itself. In 2016, we built three bright pink pop-up pavilions on the Rose Kennedy Greenway to host our Housing the Hub research and community discussion series which daylighted five design ideas to address Boston’s critical housing shortage.
This year, as the official masterplanner of HUBweek, we are excited to partner with HUBweek once again to design and masterplan The HUB, their first- ever centralized festival site featuring six geodesic domes, 80 containers, 130 artists, 150+ events, and speakers.
Popping up on Boston's City Hall Plaza for four days, The HUB will bring together the world's best and brightest in arts, science, and technology while encouraging new innovations and the chance for visitors to explore shared interests through a diversity of interactive experiences. Furthermore it will place industries that are traditionally siloed side-by-side, encouraging new synergies right in the heart of Boston.
