Private Residence Erie
The house sits at the end of a long winding way overlooking Lake Erie. Here, everyone must arrive by car/ A large gracious entrance court welcomes guests and provides ample parking. Vehicles are separated and shielded from the house by landscaping and a low screen wll. A spacious and weather-protected entrance is easily identifiable. The owners' cars and garage are off to the side of the house, out of sight.
On the lakeside, the house opens out to the expansive view. A large unbroken terrace, set slightly raised for better sightlines, provides all areas of the house with the opportunity to have direct access to the out of doors. Large stone chimneys and steep overhanging roofs give the house the sense of being a sheltered place. Although a grand house, carefully detailed elements and simple textured materials help create a gracious, human scale.
