Historic repurposed brick & beam warehouse

Flexible Executive Briefing Center allows for large gatherings of the tech community

Extensive AV technology implemented throughout the space to allow connectivity to other TIBCO locations

Working in concert with San Jose-based Whitney Polcyn Architects, CBT delivered an inventive new office space in a historic wharf building in Boston's emerging Innovation District. The design concept celebrates the original fabric of the existing brick and beam building by contrasting it with the new construction. Bold colors and generous use of glass activate and define workspaces to create a dialogue between new and old.

All offices are placed internally, allowing light from oversized windows to infiltrate deep into the space. Foldable partitions in the large executive briefing center create flexibility for gatherings or the creation of smaller spaces for meetings and collaborative work.

Design contributions included extensive design detailing to achieve the concept, and deep knowledge of incorporating new architecture and systems, and creatively addressing surface and material adjacencies in historic buildings. CBT provided due diligence, local resources and building code knowledge, and assistance in identification and selection of local subconsultants and contractors.
