CBT Wins Best of Show at IIDA New England Fashion Show
On November 5, CBT was one of over 20 design teams to walk the runway at the highly anticipated IIDA New England Fashion Show and Benefit Gala. Now in its 17th year, the annual event is a design celebration like no other, bringing together over 1,500 Boston design professionals for a night of spectacular wearable runway fashion made exclusively from materials and finishes used daily in the interior design profession.
This year’s theme was SENSEsation and CBT’s entry, SenseLESSness, explored the absence of the human senses with three stunning ensembles – Silence, Darkness and Numbness. CBT was proud to take home the top honor of the evening among the five awards bestowed, receiving Best of Show, which recognizes the highest scoring entry across all award categories. Through collaboration with our vendor sponsors, each looked was designed and created using a variety of dynamic materials from our partnering vendors: Edelman Leather, Haworth, Environments at Work, and Koroseal.
Proceeds from the event will help fund professional development programs, designer certification, and chapter events throughout the year and a portion will be donated to Art in Giving, which raises funds for childhood cancer research through the sale of fine art.
In just a few months, the award winning entries will be available for viewing up close and personal at the SENSEsation post-fashion exhibit. The month-long display at the Boston Design Center will open with an evening reception on Thursday January 14, 2016.
